WEEKLY NEWS
At least 10 witnesses have alleged sexual exploitation at an army barracks where a teenage recruit was found dead 20 years ago, it has been claimed. Pte Cheryl James, 18, from Denbighshire, was found with a bullet wound to her head at Deepcut Barracks in Surrey in 1995.Her father told the Telegraph witnesses "in double figures" claim they were exploited or recruits were ordered to have sex with other soldiers. A fresh inquest begins on Monday. A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Pte Cheryl James."The inquest will now be a matter for the coroner, but we will of course continue to cooperate with and provide support to the coroner where needed."
Lawyers from human rights campaign group Liberty have asked the coroner, Brian Barker QC, to allow the new witnesses to give evidence and he is expected to make a decision on Monday. Des James's solicitor Emma Norton said: "We have made an application to the coroner to investigate evidence that has come to light that appears to suggest there might have been a system of ordering recruits to have sex with other staff. "We have had a witness come forward to say Cheryl herself disclosed to him that she had been ordered to have sex with another soldier. "With that evidence in mind, we wanted to say to the coroner 'look, anyone else who is suggesting a similar pattern of behaviour, you ought to hear from.'"

Pte James, from Llangollen, was one of four soldiers who died at the barracks between 1995 and 2002 amid claims of bullying and abuse. The new inquest was granted by the High Court in 2014 after the open verdict recorded at the original inquest in December 1995 was quashed.
Mr James, from Llanymynechm, Powys, has said he hopes the fresh hearing willuncover the truth about what happened to her. "I don't have a result in mind. I just want the truth," he told BBC Radio Wales' Eye on Wales Programme. "As long as the process is impeccable, as long as I can look back and say everything we could do, we've done, that's the important thing."
More than 100 people are due to give evidence when the inquest begins in Woking, Surrey.

Weekly News

treacherous "christian" leaders in Luton cosy up to Muslims to condemn Britain first.

This news article is from the monomaniacal self anointed bigots known as Britain first. I have recovered this of their facebook page.
So-called “Christian leaders” in Luton have queued up to condemn Britain First after our Christian Patrol in the Bury Park area.  These “Christians” are gormless, trendy, politically correct, tree-hugging, sandal wearing hippies who only care about “multiculturalism”, appeasing Islam and publicizing themselves. Strangely for Christians, in the video below, they sign off with the Muslim “salam al kum” and they did not mention any of the violence, verbal abuse or claims of “taking over the UK” that were displayed by the Bury Park Muslims. When Anjem Choudary went to Luton, they were silent and nowhere to be seen. The Muslims call these useful idiots “Dhimmis”. Jews and Christians living under Muslim rule are considered “dhimmis”. God himself will judge these heretics and sell-outs when the time comes.
now to give you some context on what happened.  Britain first is a group which opposes immigration in to Britain, although if you're from a western culture country and back ground you're fine, had a march in the town of Luton. The next day a vicar came out in front of the Bury park, where Britain first did their protest, with other priests and Muslims and stated how the members of Britain first use the Christian symbol , the cross, in a negative way. Britain first said how the priest cosied up to the Muslims. this is ridiculous! they are insinuating that the Muslims persuaded him to support for them. In the video he says  how he has come himself to show that these "so called Christians", Britain first, are bigots and un-fair.
I believe that Britain first is wrong in so many ways.

Sandwell Hospital orders striking doctors to work

A hospital has ordered its junior doctors to work as thousands more strike across England. Sandwell Hospital in West Bromwich declared a "level 4" incident after a "very high" number of admissions. Medical director Dr Roger Stedman said the hospital had decided to require trainee doctors due on shift to attend as normal during the strike. The British Medical Association (BMA) said its members should continue with industrial action for the time being.
In a statement, it said: "Junior doctors should continue with industrial action until NHS England has confirmed and the BMA has agreed - via the agreed escalation process - that a major unpredictable incident is taking place for a specific Trust. "The BMA will notify members as soon as such an incident is in place."
The hospital is run by Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. It comes as the first strike by junior doctors in 40 years is under way in a row over a new contract. About 100 picket lines have been put in place, with a large concentration in and around London. Anne Rainsberry, national incident director for NHS England, said: "The local NHS is actively reviewing the situation to support the Trust. Nationally, we are continuing to work closely with our BMA colleagues to ensure patient safety."
The BBC has seen a letter sent to doctors in training from Dr Stedman dated 11 January which said: "Over the past few days there has been a surge in activity which has continued today.
"There are over 50 additional adult beds open with further medical outliers in surgery.
"There have not been enough discharges today to accommodate patients requiring admission.
"Tomorrow we will be running Sandwell General Hospital site as a Trust internal incident with all medical teams working to increase the numbers of discharges.
"I have reviewed the situation this afternoon and I believe that given the situation and staffing levels, it would be unsafe to deliver care to all our in-patients with a reduced workforce tomorrow."

PM asks doctors to call off strike
David Cameron has urged junior doctors to call of their planned strike action.
He warned Tuesday's strike will cause "real difficulties for patients and potentially worse".The strike begins across England at 08:00 GMT, from when junior doctors will only provide emergency care.Talks between the doctors' union - the BMA - and NHS bosses continue. The BMA has said the strikes "demonstrated the strength of feeling amongst the profession".Issues being disputed by the BMA and NHS include weekend pay and whether there are appropriate safeguards in place to stop hospitals over-working doctors.
Three strikes are set to take place from:
  • 08:00 Tuesday 12 January to 08:00 Wednesday 13 January (emergency care will be staffed)
  • 08:00 Tuesday 26 January to 08:00 Thursday 28 January (emergency care will be staffed)
  • 08:00 to 17:00 Wednesday 10 February (full walk-out)
The Prime Minister called on medics "at the late stage" to get back around the table before the proposed walkout. He said: "This strike is not necessary, it will be damaging."We are doing everything we can to mitigate its effects but you can't have a strike on this scale in our NHS without their being some real difficulties for patients and potentially worse."NHS England estimates 1,425 inpatient operations and procedures will be cancelled as a result of the action along with 2,535 outpatient ones.It says everything possible is being done to provide safe emergency care and minimise the impact on patients.Anne Rainsberry, the NHS England director overseeing preparations, said: "We have tried and tested plans to deal with a range of disruptions including industrial action. As ever, the safety and care of patients is our top priority and the NHS has robust plans in place to ensure those who need emergency treatment will continue to receive it. "We have been working with hospitals and other NHS providers across the country to ensure we can continue to protect the safety of our patients and provide the urgent services they need. We will monitor the situation across the country to ensure these plans are in place, and are ready to respond to any significant increases in pressure in any region over the course of this dispute."

NARRATIVE

TECHNIQUES - IN MOVING IMAGE
  • manipulation of time and space
  • split screen narratives- The screen splits in to sections and has mini narratives in each of them.
  • Three strand narrative-  but three plots are introduced at the B of the TV show and they interview as the plot develops. Some plot lines go in to the next episode.
  •  Flexi- narrative- Complex narrative structure with layers of interweaving narrative. - keeps the audience intrigued
CONVENTIONS - IN MOVING TEXTS
  • Flashbacks- used to give the audience additional information to further the development in the narrative.
  • Point of View shots (POV) - allows the audience to see from a character's perspective
  • apparently impossible shots- Where the camera gives the action from an unusual spot. (in the air or behind the wall)
  • Privileged spectator position- camera places the audience in a superior position. Shows aspects which other characters can not see. (can create dramatic irony)
  • Enigma codes- camera only shows some of the narrative (used in trailers a lot)
  • Voice over- gives, fills in, promises information  (used in trailers a lot as well)

GENRE

  • Narrative
  • - the plot/ story arc is how a story is told. all media texts convey information in a formulaic structure.
  1.  This may be a linear structure comprising a B, M and an End. or it could a non- linear structure or circular structure.
  2. certain genres have predictable narratives and plot situations.
This is a very general and basic narrative structure
Typical narrative structure is often broken down in this way:
  1. Opening: establishes setting and introduces character
  2. Build up: Relationships established. Development of characters and their world
  3. Problem: a dilemma or series of complications.  Characters are faced with an obstacle to overcome a mystery to solve, or often more than one
  4. Events: a series of events/action as characters try to overcome obstacle, solve problem, discover truth and so on.  Further complications may arise in the process
  5. Resolution: the protagonists are victorious, problems are solved, truth revealed
  6. Ending: characters reflect on events, reinstate relationships and look forward.
  • Characters
  •  most genres have recognizable characters, known as stock characters , for example the rebellious teenager in a soap opera.
  1. audiences become used to specific character in a specific genre and can then predict what the character is going to do in any situation.
  2. It can also be related with the actor. Some actors are associated with specific genres. Bruce Willis - action genre.
  • setting and iconography
  • objects or certain props used by characters may become specific to the genre. clothing is also a rapid way to communicating to an audience.
  • This can also apply to a certain setting and location. If there was an establishing shot of a hospital the audience now knows where the film is taking place.
Technical Codes
  • These are very important in establishing a genre. some genre have a particular way of filming and will use certain camera shots and editing. E.G- fast paced editing and with rapid cuts is conventional in action films.
